Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about chemical peels.

A chemical peel uses a specially formulated solution to exfoliate and remove the outermost layers of skin, revealing fresh, smoother skin underneath. Depending on the depth of the peel, it can address fine lines, uneven texture, pigmentation, acne, and dullness.
We offer a range of peels to suit different skin types and goals, including the ZO Stimulator Peel for a lighter refresh, the MicroPeel, the DermaPeel, and deeper VI Peels for more significant correction. Your provider will recommend the best option during your consultation.
For at least 5–7 days before your peel, avoid:
  • Retinol, vitamin A, or exfoliating acids
  • Waxing, laser, or electrolysis treatments
  • Excessive sun exposure or tanning
  • Antibiotics or Accutane (consult your provider)
It depends on the peel. Lighter peels like the ZO Stimulator have minimal to no visible peeling and little downtime. Deeper peels such as the VI Peel may involve 3–7 days of visible flaking or shedding. Your provider will set expectations based on the treatment selected.
After your peel:
  • Keep skin moisturized and avoid picking or peeling skin manually
  • Wear SPF 30+ daily — your skin will be more sun-sensitive
  • Avoid retinol and exfoliants until fully healed
  • Skip saunas, sweating, and hot water for at least 48 hours
Many clients notice brighter, smoother skin immediately after a lighter peel. For deeper peels, full results typically appear 7–14 days after treatment once healing is complete. A series of peels is often recommended for optimal results.
Many of our peels, including the VI Peel, are formulated to be safe for a wide range of skin tones including darker complexions. We always perform a thorough skin assessment before recommending a peel to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe for your skin.
